Happy Thanksgiving!
For this week’s insight, we decided to do something a little bit different. We asked the DRYVE team to reflect on gratitude and what it brings up in them this time of the year. See below for responses from the team.
From Tyler
This year has been a gift in ways I never fully understood until now.
We welcomed our first child at the end of last year, and many of you know the profound shift this can bring to life. It’s a shift in perspective and priorities—changing how I see the world. Suddenly, everything carries a deeper meaning. The work I do, the time I spend, the places I go, and the people I engage with—how I engage with them—now feel more purposeful. Life’s “why” has become clearer.
As I reflect on gratitude, I land here: I’m deeply thankful for the opportunity to share this journey with another. To give my time, energy, and resources for someone else’s benefit. To witness her growth and exploration of life is truly a gift. A reminder of the simple things that bring joy. And to do this alongside someone I love.
For all of this, I am grateful.
From Randy
I’m incredibly grateful to be able to do work that I love—work that makes a significant impact in the lives of others. Even more, I’m thankful for the amazing team I get to do it with. Together, we’re making a difference, and that’s something I never take for granted.
From Charis
What a year it’s been! It has been a year of major transitions. Transitioned from a 5-year live-in job to a new job with DRYVE, purchasing a home in May, followed by 3 months of renovating the basement for my parents to move in in September.
Yet in all of the transition, I am thankful for preparation. My husband and I started financially preparing to buy a home a year before we started looking. We also started relationally preparing for these new multigenerational living arrangements, having a series of conversations—some much harder than others.
I am thankful for the individuals—the DRYVE team included— who throughout this transition between chapters have made our lives rich. I’m thankful for a place and people to call home. I’m thankful we don’t have to do any part of life alone.
From Don
I am grateful for all the GOOD PEOPLE that are in my life. People who care. People who share. People that would give the shirt off their back to help you. Most importantly, people that live to love and serve others. I am blessed to be surrounded with people that I respect and look up to for how much they give of themselves to others.
We must put out of our heads all the negative things we see and hear because if we let that overwhelm us, we will miss the great things that are right in front of us. If we look for the GOOD IN PEOPLE, we will find it.
As you reflect on the past year, what are you grateful for? What memory sticks out that makes you smile to yourself?
