How new phrasing can lead to new possibilities
Generative language is a powerful thing. Our words can be used to tear down or build up. Think about the possibilities around a simple statement like ”let’s explore some possibilities” or ”what do you need to make that happen?” Compare that to ”that won’t work” or ”you can’t do that.” When it comes unleashing human potential, the former set of statements are like throwing gasoline on a fire while the latter are like a suffocating bucket of cold water.
Are you tearing people down or are you creating new possibilities with your words? One of your most important roles you have as a leader is to maximize the potential of your team. Change your world and theirs by changing your words. Words are powerful. Use them to build people up and release their potential.
