Don’t go back to normal, go forward to better

Okay, enough is enough. It’s time to get focused. Ignore the things you cannot control and focus on the things you can control. Remember, it’s not the adverse conditions that create stress; it’s the lack of a meaningful response.

Jack Canfield says it well-

“Successful people maintain a positive focus in life no matter what is going on around them. They stay focused on their past successes rather than their past failures, and on the next action steps they need to take to get them closer to the fulfillment of their goals rather than all the other distractions that life presents to them.”

Because business has slowed down or you are furloughed, many of us have time and extra bandwidth to work on important projects we have not had time to work on in the past. Clearly define what those difference making actions are and go to work on them. Invest in yourself and your future. Learn a new skill, explore a new career, develop an idea, or launch a new business venture.

This is your opportunity to redefine your future. To create your ideal world. To live life on your own terms. Many of the people I am talking to want to get back to “normal.” I am saying the opposite. Don’t go back to normal. Go forward to better.

If you would like some help defining what better looks like for you or your team, I am extending my offer to do a FREE web-based Strategy Session (up to two hours) with you and your leadership team. Sign up by May 15, 2020, no strings attached. All you have to do is send me an email, or you can call or text me: 417-880-2060. From there, we’ll set up a time that works for both of us.
